When installing spiral duct in the field, the pipe is usually cut to 1 / 2 inch longer than the required length, and then the 1 / 2 inch lip is hammered into the anvil opposite the pipe at an angle of 90 degrees by using the spiral duct. Use a deep throat vice clamp to fix the pipe at right angles and move back far enough to form the required lip for better results. If you are welding spiral duct, cut the pipe into a length and weld the spiral duct in place (remember to align the flange with the centerline).
